8 Tips To Start Off Diet Resolution Week

  1. Don’t compare yourself to others. Someone else may be seeing faster results while not having to put forth as much effort but remember that we are all unique and may lose at different speeds.
  2. You will need to be prepared to resist temptation. Family and friends might not understand how important it is for you to stay on track and tempt you to cheat once in awhile.
  3. Be sure to eat a variety of foods. It doesn’t matter what type of diet plan you are following, don’t eat the same types of foods repeatedly.
  4. You can reward yourself, but not with food. If you are staying on track, celebrate your healthy achievements by getting some new workout clothes or a pair of running shoes.
  5. Realize that you are in control of your diet. You may not be able to control outside factors such as co-workers bringing in treats or the birthday cake in the break room, but you can control yourself.
  6. Commit to 3 weeks on your healthy eating plan. The beginning of a new diet is the hardest so don’t give up early on it.
  7. Cook meals in advance for the week.  It may seem like a big undertaking when making food for the entire week, but you can save time and control what you are eating for that time period.
  8. Keep track of the progress you are making. Weigh yourself once a week or use measurements to keep track.  Knowing what your achievements are will be essential to reaching your goals.
